Gambling operator Caesars Entertainment has extended the range of digital horse racing betting markets available on its app to two new states.
Bettors in Indiana sports betting and Illinois sports betting markets will now be able to join those in the New York sports betting, Maryland sports betting, Kentucky sports betting, Ohio sports betting, and Colorado sports betting in being able to wager on horse racing through a single wallet app that allows the user to switch between sports betting and horse racing quickly and easily.
Data analysts from NYRA Bets power the Caesars Sportsbook app and Caesars Racebook wagering interface. Players who use the single wallet to wager on both horse racing and sports will also be able to earn reward points through the Caesars Rewards loyalty program.
Livestreaming product
According to Caesars, the addition of the racebook function to the sportsbook app will provide customers in those states with greater horse racing coverage, including access to the Caesars livestreaming product. It's another step toward becoming one of the best horse racing betting sites.
This includes races from over 300 tracks from around the world, as well as many of the best known US tracks, including Saratoga, Monmouth Park, Gulfstream Park and Santa Anita.
“Our customers will be able to bet on horse racing, whether it’s the sport’s biggest events or daily races from tracks around the world. Now, our product seamlessly puts the action directly in front of an expanded audience and reinforces Caesars’ commitment to horse racing. We look forward to continuing our work with the New York Racing Association and NYRA Bets to expand the availability across more states as we gain regulatory approvals,” said the Senior Vice President and Chief Development Officer at Caesars Digital, Dan Shapiro.
The addition of horse racing to the sportsbook app in Indiana and Illinois is part of an ongoing expansion, as Caesars seeks regulatory approval to provide the joint app in multiple states.
Belmont Ready
The extension of horse racing betting to Indiana and Illinois comes ahead of the 2025 edition of the Belmont Stakes, the final leg of the Triple Crown, which sees Kentucky Derby winner Sovereignty and Preakness winner Journalism go head to head once more.
Caesars states that its customers will be able to wager on the race through the standalone Racebook app, where the dual product is not available. In 20 states, including the Pennsylvania sports betting, California sports betting, Iowa sports betting, Maryland sports betting, and Florida sports betting markets the app is not an option.
Caesars has a long term connection with horse racing across the United States. It is the presenting sponsor of the annual National Horseplayers Championship, which is staged at Horseshoe Las Vegas.
It also operates racetracks at five locations around the country, including Harrah’s Columbus, Horseshoe Indianapolis, Harrah’s Philadelphia and Harrah’s Hoosier Park.
